On 22th June, it’s our sexy rocker Jung YongHwa’s 24th birthday. (Those who know Korean culture have an on how Korean count ages. They count age starting from the pregnancy. So that, when a baby is born, the baby is already 1 year old.)
Our awesome celebrant could be defined as a natural born handsome man with golden proportionate face, an energetic vocalist, a skilful guitarist, a poetic song writer, a great music composer, a charismatic leader, a caring elder brother, an emotional singer, sincere and diligent actor, a humorous entertainer, a beastly idol with well-defined muscle and chiselled body, an ambitious and hardworking young man with gracious manner and many more. He is colourful person and has described himself as a chameleon so that it is hard to define him with one word. He is equipped with everything what human being should have. Maybe when God poured down His blessings, Yong Hwa was in the front row!

YongHwa: I keep dreaming something scary. I often dream being chased and running away. Maybe it’s because I’m so busy recently.

How do you solve your problem?
YongHwa : I don’t just keep it alone, I discuss it with other members and then I solve it. Fortunately, all members are the type of those who like to listen to stories.
What’s your favourite Japanese word?
Yonghwa : Hmm .. the Japanese word in my mind right now is “shinpai” (worry). Even though we already made our major debut, but there are still many things to worry about. Of course, I discussed about this too, but there’s still some stuff that make me worry and I keep it alone (laugh). I don’t show it to everyone around me.

His goals and dreams
How did you become sudden stars soon after releasing the first album I’m A Loner back in January?
Yong hwa: I still don’t think the album went well. Although the first start was very good, our goal is for the band culture in Korea to be stable and loved through us. (He showed his ambition and passion.)

Thoughts on being an idol band
CNBLUE is not ‘Idol’ but you are being called ‘Idol’. How do you discriminate ‘artist’ from ‘idol’?
Yonghwa: If you can express something by your song and lyric, and if you have the right to decide the sound you made, you’re an artist. In our case, when we became trainees, actually we were not made as an artist group. But as our debut is determined, we have been going through the way of artists. Because we four are always trying to express our thinking of CNBLUE through our music, we can grow to artists than idol.

Yong Hwa: We don’t have same styles, so there isn’t a band that I think as a rival. I wrestle over how to progress musically as CNBLUE, not try to compete with rivals.
It’s not that we claim to be an “idol band”, but we don’t feel anything against being called an “idol”. In fact, I like the meaning of the word “idol”. Nonetheless, I wish you wouldn’t regard us through green glasses just because we’re called an idol band. I like CNBLUE that loves the band music and can make music for our generation. Because it gives us the impression as a popular band, I’m okay with an “idol band” (label).

Up till now, CNBLUE has had a broad spectrum of supporters. What’s the unique style of your music? And what other genres you intend to try in the future?
Yonghwa: First, we need to thank our fans and everybody who likes our music for their support. Though we are a band, our music is close to mainstream. We don’t just do rock, but also ballads. Maybe that’s the reason why people like us. As we have actually tried various styles of music, we intend to make even more multi-genre music in the future. Maybe one day we will even try dance beats.

YongHwa: When one’s working hard, even the sweats are beautiful. Crying is also a beautiful thing, so I thought. I need to sing with a very tender voice, to give this imaginative and dreamy feel.
Because humans are so full of feelings, even seeing the fallen leaves in autumn gives the feeling of wanting to cry. Though we always have negative feelings, not all of them are bad. If we can change our thoughts, we can come with a positive perspective. This is what this song is all about.

I think “Where you are” is about talking to the “music writing god”?
YongHwa: You’re right. I have this kind of feeling. When I write songs, I’m frequently frustrated about not having inspirations. But this song came with sudden inspiration.
Do the lyrics sing something about escaping from the present too?
We can always see these people around us. They look positive from the outside but they’re experiencing great pain. (Laughs) In this kind of situation, shouldn’t one think with an even more positive mind? Well, this is just my thought.

It’s a Message Photobook. We compile and translate YongHwa’s precious words. Words that he said on Interview that are very meaningful or very significant to him and touched our hearts too It is a “8×8″ 20-page Photobook. Translation of words are handled by CebuNuna and Layouts are made by me. I’m really satisfied and happy with the printing but there are some mistakes of my layout. Simple mistakes, like the words are almost cut because the layout is too big(?) Something like that hehe.. It’s my first time to do stuffs like this xD Whatever the mistake is I’m really happy with the Photobook when i first saw it, can’t stop to browse the page. Thinking if YongHwa will like and love it ^^ While for the Scrapbook, it’s like a compilation of Yonghwa’s photo (or look? XD) from 2010-2012. I also share few photos of the content. It’s a 20-page scrapbook.
